Haunted Trail

Each year Murray city hosts a haunted trail the week of Halloween. We have gone the last few years. While you wait in line they read ghost stories. Next, you walk the "haunted trail" and after you get a doughnut and hot chocolate. Carter is a bit scared but really likes it. It is fun to listen to him convince himself he is not scared. He does like it though and he says he wants to go next year.

After Carter was wired, but.....

Put Paige to sleep!

FuN, FuN and more FuN

This past weekend my Mom and I took the kids to Cornbelly's corn maze in Lehi. It was rather expensive, but I have to say we had a blast. There was a ton to do that kept us busy for hours. Pumpkin train ride:
Pedal cars:

Hayrides:
A Magician:
Balloon makers, a haunted house, pig racing, duck racing, slides and not to mention the food!
That night we had our ward Halloween trunk or treat. Carter was GI Joe and Paige a Lady Bug

It doesn't take much to have fun!

Today was a very nice warm day, and from what I understand the last for a while. The kids and I played in the backyard (while Daddy did the dishes, THANKS Corb). With living in a fairly new neighborhood we do not have many large trees. However, with the five fallen leaves we have in our yard, we managed to have fun sweeping them into a pile, throwing them in the air, jumping in them and piling them on our little sister's head (Carter!). The kids enjoyed themselves and it was fun to watch. Bring on the cold :(

The worst Mom ever

All by the time Carter's car pool came at 8:20 this morning:

Found out Carter blabbed something to the neighbor I specifically told him NOT to do, now I am so embarrassed.

His pants were not all the way dry. (they were, I swear)

He did not like the "show and tell" I picked out for him after seven other rejected ideas.

His breakfast was way too hot.

I wiped his nose too hard, so he told me I am the worst Mom ever.

Time out

He is off to St. George/Vegas with his dad today, maybe he will have a better time with him

I guess some days are better than others?

Our Adventures of this week....

First we went to Gardner Village to see the witches. They have added more this year and Paige got a kick out of them. Carter's highlight was a cinnamon roll from the Neighborhood Bakery.

Next it was off to watch Carter play soccer. He has really enjoyed soccer this year. He has made a few goals which has motivated him more and more each game to keep trying.

Paige was a supportive spectator

Next it was off to Wheeler Farm. We do this activity every fall. They do a hayride, hay maze and the kids get to pick out a pumpkin. Each year we try and feed the ducks but they are usually too full and do not eat any of our bread. This time they must have been starving because they swarmed us. They ate every last piece of bread our group had and were not shy about it. They came right up to us and ate right out of our hands. We were a bit afraid to give bread to Paige so she could feed the ducks considering they are the same size as her. However she had no fear about it and fed them herself. (Thanks for remembering bread Emily!)

And lastly, it was off to a pumpkin patch near our house to get our annual porch pumpkins. The kids like the wheelbarrow ride and I like the fresh fruit. I Love this time of year and I try to get out and do anything fall like that I can! Happy Fall!

Update

Carter struggled a bit when he first went into Kindergarten. He had a hard time figuring out when it was an ok time to talk with his friends and when to listen to the teacher. He was in "think time" several times the first few weeks. Well, he has worked really hard and has not had think time since the second week of school. This note came home with him today and I was thrilled!

Also lately Carter has been drawing a bit more. Until recently he HATED anything crafty including drawing, coloring, painting or gluing. He drew each member of our family recently so I had to document it. Love Paige in the bottom picture with a bow and Carter reading a book.
